Here are some great tips to help you make the most of your fundraising page:
Add some sparkle to your page
To make your page work for you, personalise your page with photos, videos and messages. A good picture can tell a thousand words. Let everyone know why you’re fundraising for Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea.
Set a Fundraising Goal – aim high!
Set a fundraising target for your event- make sure it’s slightly ambitious (but achievable)! You may be surprised at how much people are willing to donate to help you reach your total.
Make it personal
Share your story or that of a person you are trying to help. Your friends and family are more likely to donate if they can relate to the cause.
Donate to your event
Why not make a large donation yourself? This will demonstrate you’re dedicated to the cause.
Email your close friends and family first
Send an email or e-invite to the people you think are most likely to be the most generous supporters first. Subsequent supporters are likely to match the amounts already donated.
Just ask!
Email everyone in your address book using the ‘e-invites’ and encourage them to make a donation online before the event. People are more likely to make a larger donation online than they would in person.
Reassure your guests that your website is secure and they will be issued with a tax receipt for their donation immediately.
Change your email signature and update your Facebook profile
Change your email signature and your Facebook profile to include a link to your fundraising page.
Follow up
Just before your event, send a reminder email to everyone you know and prompt them to donate.
Keep your page updated
Encourage people to re-visit your personal page. Let everyone know how your event preparations are going and get them excited.
Continue fundraising after your event
Update your fundraising total and email it out to your contacts to let them know how much you have all raised together. A number of donations are likely to roll in when the event is over, so keep fundraising!
