As a kid I believed our kettle had magical powers. No matter what the problem was, my mum (being of English descent) would calmly put the kettle on; whatever was wrong in the world would be cured by a cup of tea. Now that I am (somewhat) grown up it gives me a sense of satisfaction to confirm my childhood faith in the power of the kettle: by participating in Australia's Biggest Morning Tea you may create a little magic in the world after all.

A simple cup of tea, a delicious little bite to eat, and some great conversation with friends; who would have thought that something we do almost every day could help to change the lives of so many people suffering from cancer? Just brilliant! Why don’t you switch on the kettle and help raise money and awareness by hosting your own event at this years’ Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea.

I love morning tea because it's a great excuse to take a break from my busy schedule. But when you know you're helping people affected by cancer simply by drinking a cuppa, it makes it all the more rewarding. I've been touched by cancer, as have many others, losing my father and uncle to this tragic disease. I'd like to encourage all Australians to get involved in Australia's Biggest Morning Tea and help Cancer Council raise vital funds for cancer research and support.

Mark Holden said: "I've worked with some of the biggest names in showbiz, but the real superstars are the doctors and nurses who work tirelessly to defeat diseases like cancer. Let's make the biggest stir yet for cancer research by supporting Australia's Biggest Morning Tea."

Tobie Puttock

"If you're not a tea drinker then there's a range of herbal drinks, fruit juices or water, while the more adventurous can impress guests with delicious smoothies. It's never too late to organise a morning tea, with money raised helping Cancer Council support those diagnosed with cancer and their families."  Tobie Puttock

 Bill Granger

Best selling chef Bill Granger said: "My perfect morning tea would involve family and friends catching up over a big pot of tea and something absolutely delicious. Australia's Biggest Morning Tea is a great excuse to get people together and, while you're there, raise money for cancer research."

Shelly Craft  Singer Vanessa Amorosi  John Paul Young

Shelley Craft

Channel 9 presenter Shelley Craft said: "I think Australia's Biggest Morning Tea is a wonderful way to not only raise awareness and offer support to the overall cause, but also a great chance for people to come together and chat about a topic that can be so difficult for people to discuss. To share stories and challenges that they have faced whether directly or indirectly due to cancer and to realize that they are not alone - unfortunately, most people have been affected by some form of cancer one way or another."

Vanessa Amorosi

Vanessa Amorosi said: "Recording new music can be hard work, so an excuse for a tea break gets the thumbs up from me. I'll be one of over a million people switching on a kettle to support Australia's Biggest Morning Tea to help those affected by cancer."

 John Paul Young

John Paul Young said: "Morning tea helps me warm up the vocal chords and it's a great way to raise money for cancer research. The easiest way to collect donations is for every cuppa or treat sold, but getting creative in fancy dress and entertaining your family, friends or colleagues will make it a morning tea to remember."
