How do I register to host an Australia's Biggest Morning Tea?

Do I have to hold my event on a certain date?
The official date for Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea 2024 is Thursday 23rd May, but you can host your tea anytime in May or June that suits you best!
Why do I need to register?
We ask you to register so that we can send you your free host kit with all the resources need to help you hold your morning tea, including your Letter of Authority to Fundraise for Cancer Council.
What is in my host kit and when will I receive it?
Dispatch for host kits in 2024 will begin mid-March. Inside you’ll find posters, bunting, invitations, a recipe, games, an on-the-day checklist and much, much more!
If you've requested a digital host kit, you will receive this immediately after you complete your registration online.

Why hasn’t my host kit arrived yet?
Host kits are sent via Australia Post and may take up to two weeks from your date of registration to arrive.

I want to host a virtual morning tea this year, is that still an option?
Yes! You can host your morning tea any way you like. Check out the resources page for tips and tools on having a virtual morning tea.
What is a Royal Tea?
Royal Teas are a special group of Biggest Morning Tea hosts who are committed to raising $1,000 or more at their morning tea. Once in the Royal Tea Club, you’ll unlock access to VIP discounts and exclusive website content!
Would you like to be a Royal Tea? Simply login to your fundraising hub and visit ‘Edit My Page’ to set a fundraising target of $1,000 or more.

Where does my fundraising money go?
Every dollar raised through your Australia's Biggest Morning Tea helps fund Cancer Council's life-saving research, prevention, support programs, and information. For more information on the ways your donations make a different to those impacted by cancer click here.
How do I promote my event?
Send out invitations via email or SMS, share your fundraising page on social media, pop a poster up in your workplace or community club (you’ll find these online here), or put a notice in the local magazine or newspaper. If you’re hosting in your workplace, ask if you can advertise on your internal communications channels or add to your email signature.
How do I ask people for donations?
The number one reason why people donate to charities is because they were asked – so don’t be afraid of asking! Tell your supporters why the cause is important to you and remind them that every dollar counts – every dollar will go towards supporting those impacted by cancer (find out more here). Many workplaces also offer dollar matching, so it’s worth asking your boss if this is something they will do.
How do I update the message on my fundraising page or change my page name?
Your page name can be changed by logging in to your Fundraising Hub, clicking on "My Account" and editing the Alternate Display Name field.
To update your page message visit the "Edit My Page" section of your Fundraising Hub, and scroll down to Update My Story. This can also be done via your public-facing fundraising page by clicking the edit icon next to Support My Biggest Morning Tea.
How do I upload photos to my fundraising page?
Log in to your fundraising hub and under Edit My Page add a new image to your Gallery. Also make sure to update your profile picture, so your friends recognise your tea when they donate!
How do I share my page on Facebook?
When you are logged into your fundraising hub or viewing your fundraising page, simply click on the Facebook share button. Alternatively, you can copy and paste your fundraising page URL into an email or on Facebook.
I shared my fundraising page on Facebook and it prompted me to add a donate button, should I use this?
We would advise you don’t use the Facebook donate button. As donations via Facebook are managed by a third party, we are unfortunately unable to track the funds you raise on Facebook. This means that any donations made using the Facebook donate button will not appear on your fundraising page or be added to your total fundraising amount.
What is my personal QR code and how can it be used to get donations?
Once you have registered, you will be provided with a unique QR code which can be used to make cashless payments at your event.
Once you log in to your fundraising hub, under Resources there is the option to download and print your QR code to display at your event.
Attendees will be able to simply scan the QR code using the camera on their phones and be taken directly to your online fundraising page to donate to your tea - without worrying about cash!
How do I bank my funds?
The easiest way to bank the funds raised at your morning tea is to log in online. Alternatively contact your local team for other options.
How do I add offline funds (like cash) to my fundraising page?
You can do this on your fundraising hub, under ‘My Donations’. Log in here.
Please note that any funds deposited in person at a bank, via bank transfer, or using BPAY will not automatically appear on your page. Please call 1300 65 65 85 for any queries.
I've lost my remittance/return slip, what are my banking details?
You can bank your funds online here, or get in touch with our events team on 1300 65 65 85 who will be able to provide banking details.
How do I get tax receipts? (for hosts and donors)
You can find records of your past online donations and your tax receipts through the Donor Login portal. Log in as a donor here.For offline donations, please contact your local office.
Where can I get a Letter of Authorisation to fundraise?
If you have misplaced your Letter of Authorisation or require a copy, you can find this in your fundraising hub here.
I'm in QLD and didn't receive a donation box in my host kit?
For those hosting their Biggest Morning Tea in Queensland, Cancer Council Queensland have chosen to transition to cashless fundraising this year.
To collect donations at your morning tea, we recommend sending around your fundraising page URL for your guests to make a donation ahead of the day, and utilising the QR code poster from your Fundraising Hub for on the day donations.
Alternatively, if you do receive any cash donations, please follow the instructions on the banking form in your host kit.

What is in my host kit and when will I receive it?
Due to the overwhelming response to Australia's Biggest Morning Tea, we have run out of host kits for 2024. But don't worry! When you register, we will still send you a free digital host kit immediately with all of the goodies you need to make your morning tea an amazing success. Inside you’ll find posters, printable bunting, invitations, raffle tickets, games, an on-the-day checklist and much much more!
When will I receive my mechandise?
Host kits take 3-4 business days to be processed at the warehouse. Following this, they can take 5-10 business days to arrive via Australia Post.

Can I return my mechandise?
I have received damaged or faulty merchandise:
Unfortunately, from time to time, merchandise may be damaged in transit and arrive not as expected. If you receive merchandise with any defects, please follow the steps below:
- Notify Us: Please report the issue by sending clear photos of the faulty merchandise to your state representative.
- Replacement Process: Once the issue has been reported, your state representative will arrange for a replacement item to be sent out to you promptly.
I have ordered the wrong item:
If you have accidentally ordered the wrong item, please note:
- No Returns Accepted: Unfortunately, we are unable to accept returns for change-of-mind purchases or items ordered in error.
- New Purchase: You can purchase the correct item through our website. Simply place a new order and proceed with the payment.
