This year is looking a little bit different, as always I host and fundraise in honour of my gorgeous grandmother Jackie who has been fighting and living with cancer for 4 years now. We are very grateful that through regular chemotherapy and radiation treatments she's been able to extend her life despite a Stage 4 diagnosis. We were fortunate enough to have her join us last year for an intimate elopement wedding ceremony with our closest family.
Earlier this year while we were away overseas, we found out my amazing father-in -law Darren had been diagnosed with oral cancer. Since then Darren has undergone extensive dental and oral surgery, skin grafts and has just recently begun chemotherapy and radiation treatments. It's a long road to recovery but he is over the optimist and truly so positive every step of the way.
This year I am hosting in honour of both Nan and Darren and hope to raise funds for people and families like ours, living with cancer.
For my work colleagues join me at my Biggest Morning Tea or donate online to help me reach my fundraising goal! Together, we can help Cancer Council raise much needed funds that go towards vital cancer research, support services, prevention programs, and advocacy.
