Morning Tea 2025

Hi, my name is Shan. I am hosting Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea for the third time and I would love your help and support to raise as much money as possible for a charity that will continue to effect and support many people and families on their journey's! 

The Cancer Council is a non for profit charity that works across every area of cancer; from research and prevention to all kinds of physical, emotional and mental support.

1 in 2 Australian’s will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85. With your contribution, the Cancer Council can help people and their families from the beginning of the diagnoses, through to treatment, transport and survivorship!!

The Cancer Council knows that coping with cancer is challenging, which is why they deliver a comprehensive range of support services for all people, affected by cancer across every state and territory.

Two years ago, I hosted my second morning tea with a childhood friend, Tahlia. 

During the weeks leading up to the Morning Tea, my Dad was going through the process of being diagnosed with Stage 4 Prostate Cancer.

My Dad’s journey to being diagnosed was terrifying for not only him, but also my family. The unknown created an endless list of unanswered questions and scenarios for us all -  which were very overwhelming.

With the knowledge, confidence and ongoing support from his ‘master mind’ team of oncologists, urologists and the incredible assistance of the cancer support nurses - all of our questions and uncertainty were put to ease without any judgmentment. This would not have been possible, if it wasn’t for the Cancer Council! 

The Cancer Council foundation is so close to my heart. Not only because of my personal experiences of losing a number of family members and loving friends to this dreadful disease,  but also working in our local community and witnessing so many wonderful people be effected by cancer in many ways. 

During a time of feeling helpless but trying hard to support loved ones emotionally, mentally and physically during their journeys. Let’s all band together to do our bit and raise as much as we can to help put a stop to this awful disease. This year, I’m aiming big!! With your help, I’d love to raise $3000!!
