Manning Oncology
Manning Oncology is an outpatients Oncology Unit that provides cancer treatments and support including chemotherapy and immunotherapy to the patients of Manning Area.
Cancer services commenced at Manning Hospital as an outreach service from the Newcastle Mater oncology service in the 1980s. The service provision has increased over time and now provides extensive onsite services. The service also provides access for public patients from the Forster area to have treatment at Forster oncology unit in Forster Private Hospital. The service is presently supported by very dedicated and passionate staff including two Medical Oncologists, Haematologist, Nurse Practitioner and Trainee doctors, all working closely alongside specialist nurses, administration staff and allied health team. The service provides clinical consults and cancer treatments to patients in the Manning and Greet Lakes district.
Over the last few years Manning Oncology has seen the addition of an amazing group of volunteers to our service, our Cancer Council Volunteers. Each individual gives up a few hours a week to provide much needed support to the patients and our unit. Their support helps improve patients experiences as they undergo life saving cancer treatments and keeps them informed and linked into the extensive services Cancer Council can provide.
