As my first year hosting this event, it holds a particularly special place in my heart, it happens to fall precisely on the one-year milestone since my Breast Cancer diagnosis.ย
I discovered a fairly large lump in my right breast at the start of 2023, but because I lead a fairly active life with my health and fitness, I was naive and thought there would be no way the lump could mean anything serious.ย
It turned out that it was in fact a grade 3 lobular carcinoma, so all of a sudden, my life took a dramatic turn.ย
In May 2023, I found myself having a mastectomy and lymph node clearance followed by rounds of radiation, but the good news is, I am on the other side of it and it would not have been possible without the incredible work the cancer council does to provide support and information to all those affected.ย
I am eager to raise awareness and celebrate this meaningful cause as I am sure this is something we have all experienced in some way. Please reach out if you would like to join us. Your attendance would not only enrich the event, but also provide an opportunity to connect with other likeminded locals.
It will be a fun and relaxed morning with plenty of food and drinks provided. Your participation would truly make this occasion unforgettable!
